Police administration has always been used to reflect power equations in politics.

Misbehaviour and misconduct has become the forte of Uttar Pradesh Police.When an incident of misbehaviour occurs,then transfer or suspension order comes in the form of minor punishment for a police officer and after sometime that police officer again gets prime posting in the district.We don’t hear from Chief Minister about bringing any fundamental change in the training and service pattern of police personnels,DGP says that bad cops will not remain in service,but so far he has failed to keep his word. Chief Minister doesn’t have a time to look into the matters of police administration and every incident related with misconduct of police personnels is being treated as a minor incident.Police personnels don’t know,how to treat with a girl or a woman? They don’t know about the procedures to be followed,while dealing with a woman at the police station.Incapability,inefficiency,irresponsibility,are some of the especialites,which Uttar Pradesh Police have included in its rule book.On one hand,state government is not allocating adequate resources to police personnels to perform standard procedures,and on the other,at the time of calling police officers,we hear people friendly caller tunes,but a common man rarely gets a chance to speak with that officer.So,this is the way,in which the largest single police force in the country perform its duties.
